Frequently Asked Questions
How do I take care of my new tattoo?
Here are the recommended aftercare instructions I provide to all of my clients:
1. Remove your bandage after one hour if you received a standard dry-lock pad. Do not leave on longer than two hours and do not rebandage the tattoo.
2. Wash the tattoo gently with clean hands and a mild, unscented soap, such as gold Dial soap. Do not wash with a washcloth. Make sure to wash your tattoo at least twice a day. Morning and night at the minimum.
3. Gently pat it dry with a clean paper towel.
4. Once completely dry, apply a healing ointment such as Aquaphor or A&D, or a specialty tattoo healing balm three times a day for the first three days. Make sure it is a very paper thin layer. Too much can pull the ink from the tattoo and it can heal unevenly.
5. After three days, you can use an unscented lotion three times a day until it is healed. This typically takes anywhere from 7-14 days.
6. Do not submerge your tattoo in water while healing, such as getting in a pool, bathtub, lake, or hot tub. Showers are absolutely fine.
7. Your tattoo will peel and flake, but this is normal. Do NOT pick the scabs/flaking skin. let them come off on their own. 8. If you have pets or are around animals, make sure to wash your tattoo as soon as possible if an animal does touch it while healing.
Do you take walk ins?
I'm not usually available for walk in clients because of my schedule, but I do have time every so often. It's best to call the tattoo shop to see if we have any availability, or of course, come on by! There may be another artist available if you would like to work with them.
How do I prepare?
Eat a full meal beforehand, stay hydrated, and do not consume alcohol or blood-thinning medication (like aspirin) 24 hours prior to avoid excessive bleeding.
How much does it hurt to get a tattoo?
Everyone feels things differently but the average tattoo when applied correctly is no worse than a sunburn. I like to think of it as a constant cat scratch.
Will my tattoo fade?
The skin over the tattoo is actually what determines what the tattoo will look like over the years. For brightest, longest lasting results, cover your tattoo in a high spf sunscreen.
Can I get a tattoo if I’m under 18 with parental permission?
Yes. In the state of Arkansas, you have to be at least 16. You must provide a state issued photo ID such as a permit, driver's license, or passport. Your legal parent or guardian must accompany you and bring a state issued photo ID as well. They are required to stay for the duration of the tattoo. You must also provide a birth certificate or legal guardianship papers and the last names must match on the paperwork, or we will have to have paperwork showing the legal name change. I will not tattoo inappropriate areas on anyone under 18. No face tattoos, no vulgar or profain tattoos on minors.
Do you offer cover ups?
Absolutely! I love the challenge of a cover up. I believe anything can be covered if it can't be fixed. No lost causes here! It's best to have an in person consultation before setting an appointment. That way I can take photos of the tattoo we are working with and get an idea of your vision. I will work with you the best I can to make something you are proud to wear!
Can I bring my child with me?
We have a strict no children policy for anyone under 16. No exceptions.
Can I pay with my card or cash?
We are a cash only establishment, but if you book through my booking link, you can pay with a debit or credit card. It also offers buy now pay later options!
Do you do piercings?
I do not, but we do have a piercer here on certain days after 7:00 PM. You will need to call the shop directly to see what her availability is. You can reach the shop at 501-767-3688
